Praise God! After six weeks of constant pain I am totally well and pain free and I thank God for that. As you may know, I recently suffered with my sciatic nerve to the point that I was bent over for several weeks and even having to crawl to move around. Again I have experienced that in terrible situations God will still bring good out of it. Over the course of my healing process, apart from prayer and standing on the Word of God, I was swimming most days.

I was amazed by how many people came to talk to me. It was great opportunity to share how I was believing in God for my healing. Again and again I would talk to people who had some physical ailment that doctors could not heal. Back problems, knee problems, arthritis, sciatica and the list go on and on. 90% of these people shared with me how they have gone to alternative medicines and therapies because western medicine, general practitioners and operations have not helped them. I believe that God planned for me to hear these stories. A while ago I thought myself “is there a necessity for the church to pursue divine healing when there is so much advancement in medicine”. In Jesus day we can see that they did not have all the information and availability of medical treatment we have today. Subsequently, is it possible that their need was much greater for divine healing? Through talking to these individuals and countless other, who have not found healing? I am more determined than ever that the way we are going as a church is right.

There is just as much desperation was when Jesus walked the earth. So let us all come together Sunday after Sunday EXPECTING to experience the manifest presence of God and His glory to touch lives. Know that God will equip us with grater anointing power to follow through us so that we can be the instruments of healing as Jesus told us to be in the Great Commission.

As a church we have been believing and praying for the Holy Spirit to take over in our services. My prayer has always been that man would not control. Over the last month that is exactly what we have experienced as the Holy Spirit has taken over and the normal routine of the service has changed. I trust that this will continue, and that God will keep having His way as we continue to remain responsive to Him.

It is very clear that God is wanting to heal His church, that is, the things that hold us back that we don’t even realise- those weights, burdens and areas of defeat in our lives that we have resigned to. I mentioned in a message that the cry of God’s heart is the same that he had for the children of Israel, “…Why are my people enslaved again” (Isaiah 52). I believe that God will continue to do this, to dig deeper and deeper in our lives to bring to light those giants that we need to destroy. His reason for this is that as He has said to me many times, that He wants us to live in the freedom that is rightfully ours. Recently in my own life God has been doing exactly that, as He is preparing me to move into a “Large place”, just as He did with David in Psalms 118:5.

I believe we have a choice, we can choose to live below the freedom and the full inheritance that Jesus gave us through his death and resurrection or we can take a hold of everything that belongs to us. I believe that we all need ta walk in grater freedom, authority and power- so my encouragement to you is – don’t settle for anything less than what God wants for you. spend quality time in God’s presence so that He can reveal those things that need to be dealt with.

As we do that we will enjoy a greater freedom, we will experience a greater sense of the power of God in our lives, and share the goodness of God to others and see them receive what we have freely received.
In the past we have done large scale productions and more recently we have had special mornings like our Amazing Grace morning or our fanatic morning last year. We do more than just these events though. Every year we have a family fun day at the end of the year and of course we randomly do special things every so often. Now we have created a youtube account where our videos will be able to be seen after any events.

We are hoping to start advertising through this as well. With carols and other events coming up soon be sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel and participate by commenting.

The month of May has been and gone, and as you know I shared with the church how I felt that we were to use the month of May as a time of awakening. We are often so aware of bills, family pressures and work commitments, but how aware are really of the presence of God in our lives? I called the church to use this month as a time of becoming more aware of Gods presence. I trust that you took a hold of this opportunity to listen to the heart of God, and grow in sensitivity of His presence in your daily life.

I would like to share with you my experience of what happened for me in setting aside this month of May. By the end of May the Lord gave me a much greater revelation of the weapons He has given us against the enemy and to live a victorious life. 2 Corinthians 10:4 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds”.

I believe the Lord has given me a stratergy. He told me to speak in tongues for 10 minutes every morning. In the few days that I have done this, I have sensed and seen in the spirit; walls coming down over my own life and over the church.

When we use our heavening language we dont speak out our own agendas and thoughts, and I have had to stop myself so many times from praying in English. I have felt that this has been very powerful and sensed that as I prayed in tongues I have hit the bullseye even though I dont know exactly what I am praying.
As penticostal Christians we must understand that we have not just been given a singular weapon, as spoken about in 2 Corinthians 10:4, but “weapons”. My understanding of that is, that our weapons are the Word of God, our faith and also our heavenly language. It takes us to a new level in the Spirit and takes us out of the relm of human thinking and logic, where we rely on our own agendas and understanding.

I now understand why tongues can sometimes be such a sensitive and controversial subject, because the enemy understands the power of it and doesn’t want us to use it. The apostal Paul was thankful that he spoke in tongues, as he understood that it was not the wisdom or intellect of man, but of the power of God that makes all the difference (1 Cor 2:5).

I trust that you will speak in tongues daily. If you have not spoken in tongues, every Sunday morning and evening there are people wanting to assit you receive Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues.

Looking back over the start of the year, I can see how as a church we have had great and wonderful things happening. Every Sunday morning we have had testimonies ranging from Gods miraculous healing of a young man that was braindead for almost an hour, Gods protection and provision in the lives of our church family. God’s presence has been very tangible in our meetings which excites me. It has been lovely to see new babies, engagements and young couples getting married. I have really enjoyed celebrating these happy occasions in one anothers lives. It again reinforces to me that we are a healthy, growing church community.

On the other side of the spectrum is the very sobering events we have all witnessed happening around the world and in our own country. The devestating floods in Queensland and Victoria, earthquakes in Japan and
New Zealand, cyclones in Queensland and the Japanese tsumnami. These events have been very concerning and have caused many people to fear what is next. There have been many prophecies and much talk about this notion that we are in the last days. The bible told us many years ago that we are in the last days as I preached recently (Acts 2:17, Joel 2).

It is amazing how life continues despite all the tragedy we have seen around us, as we carry on with the activities of everyday life. It is exactly as Jesus said it would be in Matthew 24:36-39 before his sudden return. “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the
ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”

My challange to you is the same as the challange that Peter gave to the church, where he talked about the coming of Jesus in 2 Peter 3:11-12 “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming”

Let’s take every opportunity to share the good news with people.

With the end of the year fast approaching we have so much as a church to be grateful for; with souls saved, baptisms, the birth of new babies and so much more. I want to thank every one of you for being a special part of our church family. It pleases me greatly to hear from new people their experience of unity and love when coming to our church. We are blessed each year with the effort and heart with which people serve at DCC to make church what it is.

Each year there are two major events where the community are open and even embrace the gospel message. Easter and Christmas are both great opportunities for the church to share the Good News of Jesus. As you know we have an enemy who opposes people hearing this life changing message. We have just recently seen this with some of the opposition that Rosie and Mel are facing in the organising of the Manningham Carols, where keeping Christ in Christmas is being opposed.

We can all become so distracted at Christmas with food, parties, presents, holidays, family and even santa becoming the focus. While many of these things are a fun part of the festivities, we must be sure that these things do not distract us from the real reason for celebration- the birth of Jesus.

As individuals and as a church, we must put all our efforts in to making sure that Jesus is the one that we focus on this Christmas- that Jesus is exalted. Also, remember to take every opportunity to share about the hope we have found in Christ. Bless you.

The weather looked ominous, but spurred on by enthusiasm; we drove down towards the Mornington Pier. By the time we got there, the sun was playing hide and seek in-between the clouds.

Undeterred our group of 10 scouted the pier for a good spot, only to find the pier cordoned off for renovation. So off we drove again until we reached the Dromana Pier. As we parked the cars, the heavens opened up and there we were, guys trapped in 3 cars waiting for the storm to end. As soon as it ended, we were off onto the pier trying to catch something. After a couple of fruitless hours we decided that we had to now buy our lunch as we caught no fish.

On the way back, disappointed but still eager, we stopped off at another spot determined not to leave empty-handed.
Well the 2 hour wait paid off when finally a guy landed a small mullet about 12cm long….The quietness broke into playful taunts of success. Then for the next 30mins, another 12 mullets of similar size were caught and released.

Finally we opted to leave content that we had fed the fish well and opted for a coffee and a chat rather. We chatted about what could have been and how location is so important when fishing.

Needless to say, there will be another trip, but this time we will catch some fish.

Blessings,

Coming into the second half of 2010 I am thrilled with the positive things that are happening within the life of our church. It is wonderful to see how we are moving as a church towards the vision and destiny that God has for us.
Each week we are having new people walk through our doors, sharing how they have been impacted by the power of God in our church services! Praise God!

We recently had a new peoples lunch to welcome those who have joined our church this past 6 months. It warms my heart to see how God is bringing people into our church with the same passion and vision– to see the realities of Gods power manifest in peoples lives!

It is great to see people finding Jesus and being baptised. In the past 3 months we have had two baptism services, with more to come– this is a sign that God is impacting peoples lives! I love watching the growth and enthusiasm of those who have more recently given their lives to Jesus– and it reminds me once more, how people need Jesus!

It was very encouraging to hear at our recent Missions Sunday how many missionaries we are supporting. Showing us once again how God will shoot many fiery arrows from our church to touch people around the world with the Good News.
Each week I am hearing new testimonies of people experiencing the healing power of God; from the common cold to neck pain and conditions that have plagued people for many years.

“Arise, shine for the light has come.” So church, continue to rise and shine, for the glory of God is seen upon you. YOU and I are the church, whether it be at our workplace, at home or in the shopping centre. We are to continue to reflect and show people the realities of a God that has power to heal, power to save, power even for the impossible!

What a privilege as a church for us to bless so many people and churches. I was overwhelmed by the numbers of people who came and thanked me personally for the role our church played in hosting the event. I must thank all those who volunteered from our church, many of those who were seconded at the event as we needed as many hands on deck as we could.

As those who attended know, by the final night– the Saturday Healing Meeting, we were having to do video link ups to an overflow room and make use of the foyer, with many people lining the walls. It really hit home to me once again, how many Christians and people out there in the community are sick. Curry Blake said that whenever he visits church congregations, up to 90% of the people in the congregation indicate that they are unwell. As I have shared before in 1997, God dramatically caused me to feel the sorrow of Gods heart when
he showed me a vision of crowds of people bandaged, bruised and sick. And how I wept like I have never wept before, at what God told me, was a picture of the church. I see why we must continue to pursue the vision God has given us to believe when Jesus said– “heal the sick, raise the dead– freely you have received, now freely give.” The Great Commission is not just preaching, but doing the work of the Kingdom and setting people free.

It has been great to hear the many testimonies coming in to the church office, of not only of people being healed themselves, but even stories of those who attended the seminar going out and praying for others on the streets and seeing people healed and saved. We are doing our best to follow up these testimonies and I will make sure we share these as they come to hand and are verified. If you yourself have any testimonies please speak to me or contact the church office.

I can definitely say that this seminar has stirred many people in doing the work of the Kingdom, and I encourage you go online to our church website and listen to the Seminar recordings. Curry Blake’s teachings on healing really do challenge us as believers to live out the Gospel message. I trust that you will be able to attend the next Curry Blake seminar when he returns in November.
